Using BeamKey

Terms and conditions

Who we are

BeamKey is a sole trader business in the United Kingdom ("we", "us"). When you use BeamKey you are contracting with BeamKey. You can contact us at hello@beamkey.co.uk.

Accepting these terms

By creating an account or continuing to use BeamKey you agree to these terms. If you use BeamKey for a business, you confirm you have authority to accept them on its behalf. You must be 18 or over.

The service

BeamKey adds colour overlays to structural engineers' drawings to make steel and timber members easier to read. Outputs may miss members or place or classify them incorrectly. They do not replace the original drawings, an engineer's schedule or professional judgement. Check every output against the original drawings before estimating, ordering or carrying out work.

Your account

Keep your sign-in details confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your details accurate.

Acceptable use

You must not use BeamKey unlawfully, for fraud or spam, to infringe anyone's intellectual property, or to interfere with its security, for example by uploading malware, probing for weaknesses or scraping. You must not reverse engineer, resell or get around the plan limits of the service. Only upload drawings you are authorised to share; read the privacy policy first.

Ownership

We own BeamKey, its software, documentation and branding. Your plan gives you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service. You keep ownership of the drawings you upload and give us permission to process them only to provide the service.

Payments and subscriptions

Payments are processed by our payment provider, Stripe, which is the seller of record for our orders. Stripe provides payment processing, billing, tax handling and transaction support. Plans are billed monthly and renew automatically until cancelled. See our refund policy.

Service availability

We do not guarantee that BeamKey will be uninterrupted or error free. To the fullest extent permitted by law, implied warranties are excluded.

Liability

Our total liability is limited to the fees you paid in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost profit or data. Nothing here limits liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence.

Suspension and termination

We may suspend or end your access for a material breach of these terms, non-payment, a security or fraud risk, or repeated or serious misuse. You can stop using BeamKey and cancel your plan at any time.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and its courts have jurisdiction.
